Dog saves mistress, dies in fire
A Wisconsin dog dragged his mistress to the front door to
save her from a fire and then ran back into the house to
save one of the family cats.  A tearful Jamie Hanson Monday
told a news conference at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center
her dog, Jesse, even brought her prosthetic leg and a
phone so she could call 911.  Jesse and the cat, however,
did not survive the blaze, the Sheboygan Press reported.
"She (Jesse) got the shoulder of my pajamas and pulled me
out of the smoke and then up to where the door was,"
Hanson, 49, said.  "When I got up to the doorway, I heard
the cat and before I could grab (Jesse), she ran up to get
the cat and then I screamed and I screamed for her, but
then I just heard her whine and then I didn't hear
anything more," Hanson said.  Elkhart Lake Fire Chief
John Reiss said the late Sunday fire was started by another
of Hanson's cats, which knocked over a candle onto
artificial plants. That cat survived in the house's
basement.

OMG. That is unbelievable, I give that dog lots of credit, I'm sure he'll go to dog heaven if there is one.

If dogs and cats are natural enemies, how do we know if the dog really intended to save the cat? Maybe he died because he went back in to eat the cat.
